FIFCJ’s upcoming Bureau meeting will be held in Palermo, Italy, on April 20, 2016. The participation is free of charge for all members. Following the meeting, the Associazione Giuriste Italiane sez. Palermo will host an international conference regarding the following themes: Istambul Convention, immigration and citizenship, and support for the caregiver.

The sixtieth session of the of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW60) will be held at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 14 to 24 March, 2016. On this ocassion, the priority theme is: Women’s empowerment and its link to sustainable development. The pre-registration period for the CSW60 is now open. Canada’s new prime minister Justin Trudeau has named a young and ethnically diverse cabinet. For the first time in the country’s history, its ministerial team is equally balanced between men and women. The ministers –15 women and 15 men– are mostly aged under 50, in a team marking both a generational change and a commitment to reflecting Canada’s diversity. Asked to explain his gender parity promise, Trudeau answered: “Because it’s 2015.”
